What is ASMR?
August 1, 2022Have you heard of ASMR? Autonomic Sensory Meridian Response. It has been a trend that has grown and exploded all over the world of social media recently.
ASMR is a term for a sensation people experience, usually a tingling feeling, when exposed to particular types of auditory or visual stimuli such as whispering, tapping, or slow movements.
Proponents of ASMR report physiological benefits such as relaxation and improved mood, as well as temporary relief of stress and pain. Many people who experience ASMR also report improvements in concentration and attention.
ASMR has been a growing trend in social media, specifically on YouTube. Featuring a large and growing amount of channels focusing on ASMR. As with many other digital audio experiences, headphones are recommended for the best experience. Most ASMR videos are audio/visual but the audio portion is often sufficient to produce results.
