Even with the Governor’s stay at home order, individual exercise is still permitted (as long as you social distance). One great place to stretch your legs and get a breath of fresh air is Fort Barnard Park. The Fort Barnard area is like three distinct spaces in one, with a community garden, dog park, and kid’s play area all nearby.

Fort Barnard Park features a playground, picnic shelter and a few fields, with plenty of open space to enjoy nature even though you need to avoid the hardscapes right now. The dog park is across the street, so don’t forget to bring your canine companion for some much needed exercise. You can also check in on the Fort Barnard community garden, a feature that provides fresh produce to the Arlington Food Assistance Center.
