Chef Robert Wiedmaier began as a dishwasher, only to rise through the ranks to now have earned a Michelin star and own and operate eleven restaurants in Washington D.C., Virginia, Maryland, and Atlantic City.
Having grown up in Belgium, Wiedmaier is the son of a Holocaust survivor. At an early age, Wiedmaier gravitated toward the kitchen and started work as a dishwasher at the age of fourteen. Eventually, he attended culinary school in the Netherlands and had an apprenticeship at a two-star Michelin restaurant.
In 1999, Robert Wiedmaier opened Marcel’s. With a refined cuisine that never goes out of fashion, the restaurant is constantly ranked among the city’s best.

Open from Wednesday-Thursday and Sunday, 4:30 PM to 9:30 PM. Friday and Saturday, 4:30 PM to 10 PM, with private dining available.
